As you probably know by now, the long awaited CSPromod was released today! It's had a mixed reception but we hope that you will enjoy our first fully hosted cup!
It will be taking place on Thursday 4th Feb. (We've extended this to allow more time for people to set up their teams and get signed up).
There's 16 places in this cup - although we may increase this if we get enough teams signing up. We may also be providing a CSP ladder soon. The cup will use standard maps (csp_dust2, csp_inferno, csp_nuke, csp_train).
What You Need to Know:
- 1 Night
- 16 Teams
- 5v5 Format
- A minimum of 3 players are required for the game to go ahead
- Standard MR15 Rules
- All games will be hosted and admin'd on our own servers (thanks to http://xone-gaming.co.uk).
- Teams must be on the server within 15minutes of the start time
- EUGL Rules apply
- No Red Crossed Players
- Libra is MANDATORY - No Excuses, unless you have errors in which case, you are to use XAC

Shame I can't play, being at uni and all. Thats my problem with all the EUGL cups, damn I hate uni.

hsf CSS isnt broken at all. It's personal preference so dont bitch about Source bitch at Ducky, absolutely nothing wrong for CSS people just cant aim for shlt so they whine and moan about it.

Should be a bit of fun. Promod is kinda buggy currently although I think that given time the bugs will be ironed out and we will be left with a decent upgrade from 1.6, but it all depends on how the sponsors react to this. If hefty prize money is put into promod with plenty of advertising / sponsorship, then top players might move over. If top teams and players move over, then other teams and players might follow on, however I cannot see this happening now but there might be a chance it may happen further down the line of promod developement.

and volume, i played promod when it came out, easy as ***, models are huge, hitboxes must be like twice the size of the models, getting headshots all over the place, maps are horrible, the mix of 1.6 and source just makes it look horrible, dont see why anyone would want to play this mod unless you were moving from 1.6 to promod, but for source players its practically 1.6 to them, so i dont see how anyone from source can actually like this game.

medic, its still a beta dont forget, by the time csp is released as a finished product, itll be far better than source.

CSP offers some of the more competitive aspects of 1.6 while still retaining the graphics of source - if you don't like CSP then by all means play CSS and I'm sure a lot of people will just ignore CSP and carry on but it offers a game which can be continually improved by the community - so even if it's not as polished as CSS for the moment it could well be in future
